3 Tips for Getting the Perfect Bridal Party Photo

Hi beautiful (and handsome) wedding photographers!! Have you ever been in front of a huge bridal party and wondered, how the heck am I going to pose everyone?? Classic poses are fine, but getting a WOW picture requires some tips and tricks. I've been a wedding photographer for over 15 years, and have really done the trial and error on these wedding tips. Read on to hear my 4 favorite photographer tips to get an amazing bridal party photo!

#1 - No Space!

Any sort of space in between your bridal party will look like the Grand Canyon in photos. Always move everyone as close as possible! You might get a few awkward comments ("Do I really have to be THIS close?") and you just say, YES! It will look amazing!!

#2 - Double Layer Large Groups!

If you have a large bridal party, always find a way to have some standing, and some sitting. Find some beautiful chairs, a staircase, or a sloping hill (but not too steep!) to set them up on!

#3 - Interaction is the Best Way to Get Smiles and Laughs

Always get some shots of the bridal party interacting with each other. Have them turn to their neighbor and say something funny, wiggle their butts, anything to get those smiles and reactions! Even just having them look at each other will produce smiles and laughs, an easy win.

#4 - Movement Creates Beautiful Photos

This one is self-explanatory! Have the bridal party all walk toward you, or across the frame; the movement creates beautiful, timelss photos that aren't stiff and posed.
